Pedro Alban

Pedro Alban é artista visual e arquiteto. Sua pesquisa se debruça sobre o universo da construção e seus processos práticos ou subjetivos - fluxos materiais, implicações ecológicas e questões de memória. A experiência de ser o último a entrar em edificações antes delas deixarem de existir - ser a barreira final entre resgate e descarte - movimenta sua produção mais recente.
Projetos selecionados incluem participações na Bienal Internacional de Arquitetura de São Paulo (2019, 2022) e na Bienal Ibero-Americana de Arquitetura (2022), da qual foi um dos finalistas; as exposições individuais "Contracorpos" (2019) e "Notícias de Lugar Nenhum", ambas em Salvador; e ainda participação na 64ª edição dos Salões de Artes Visuais da Bahia com o trabalho "Todo Material é Memória, Todo Resíduo também" (2022). É coautor do livro Cincotrês (2022) e ministrou a oficina "Território Material" no Instituto Tomie Ohtake (2024). Entre 2017 e 2022 fez parte do coletivo Mouraria 53 que, entre outras ações, ocupou e renovou uma ruína no centro antigo de Salvador a partir dos restos de mais de 60 demolições da cidade.
Desde 2020, junto com Natália Lessa e Fernanda Veiga, coordena a Arquivo, um projeto dedicado a facilitar e popularizar o reuso de materiais na arquitetura.

Pedro Alban is a visual artist and architect. His research focuses on the universe of construction and its practical or subjective implications- material streams, environment, and issues of memory. The experience of being the last person to enter buildings before they cease to exist - the final barrier before disposal - drives his most recent production.
